
The month is almost come to an end, that means its time to put a spotlight on five new bands/ artists.
FXMKE

FXMKE is a Dutch pop rock sing and songwriter. With her musical carrier getting the proper kick-off in 2019.
She started releasing music at the start of 2021, with the single “Where You Wanna Be” since than she has released some more singles and one Ep “Not Meant For Me”
In terms of live shows she hasn’t had a chance to sink her teeth into it, but there surly will be some great shows in the future.
What I like about her sound is the upbeat pop feeling, reminding me of acts like “Against The Current” and “The Overslept”
Songs I recommend are “Save You Now”, “Alone Now” and “Where You Wanna Be”
Softcult

Softcult is a Canadian alt-rock band formed in 2020, the band currently consists of twin-sisters Mercedes and Phoenix Arn-Horn, whom you may know from their previous band “Courage My Love”
Under the name Softcult the band has released a handful of singles and two full Eps “Year Of The Rat” (2021), “Year Of The Snake” (2022)
In terms of live performance they haven’t had the changes to play under the “Softcult” name, but they have played numerous shows under the name “Courage My Love”, sharing the stage with acts such as “James Blonde”, “Hot Lips” and “As It Is”
What I like about their sound is the dark grunge feel, mixed with dreamy influences, giving a unique 90 vibe to their sound.
Songs I recommend are “BWBB” “Spit It Out” and “Take It Off”
Riverby

Riverby is an American power-pop band formed around 2019, the band currently consists of vocalist/guitarist August Greenberg, guitarist Tyler Asay, bassist Doug Keller and drummer Dan Nazario.
The band has released a handful of singles, one Ep and a Debut album thus far, with their sophomore effort coming at the end of March.
With the band being formed in the Philly live circuit, it’s no surprise that the band has some shows under their belt and has preformed with acts such as “Hit Like A Girl”, “Past Life” and “Patrick Donovan”
What I like about their sound is the fuzzy rock feel, mixed with emotional indie vibes, culminating in an electrifying sound.
Songs I recommend are “Smart Mouth”, “Baseless” and “Maybe”
Øff Guard

Øff Guard is an Alternative Rock band from the US, formed around 2017 the band currently consists of vocalist Matt Weiss, guitarist Matt Becker, bassist Tyler Embry and drummer Nick Kolokathis.
The band’s discography currently consists of one EP, one full album and a handful of singles with their latest release being the single “Cut Me Off”
In terms of live shows, the band has shared the stage with acts such as “Frnd Crcl”, “Goalkeeper” and “Datapool”
What I like about their sound is the 2000 emo vibe I get from it, pop punk with dark and gloomy undertones.
Songs I recommend are “Strawberry Moon”, “Angie (I Don’t Much Care Where)” and “Cut Me Off”
Adventurer

Adventurer is an American alternative rock 4-piece, formed somewhere around 2016, the band currently consists of vocalist/guitarist Steven Christy, guitarist Jonathon J Christy, bassist Jeff Masterson and drummer PJ Clark.
The band has released one Ep and Two full albums since their inception, with their latest release being the album “Pacifica” (2021).
In terms of live show, the band has played with acts such as “I Met A Yeti”, “Icarus The Owl” and “Makari”
What I like about their sound is the mix of influences, with the instrumentals being complex and experimental (Swancore worthy) and the overall lyrics and song structure channeling anything from pop punk, to rock and post hardcore. Songs I recommend are “Two Tides”, “Broke” and “House
