Release Radar #83

This week, we return to your regular scheduled programming with an all new release radar.

Autumn Rain – Incase We Crash

Opening with loud guitars, drum and bass the song quickly adds vocals to the mix, with the instrumentation mostly focusing on the drum and bass. Right before the chorus the song takes it slower, but just as quickly gets into high speed again. The song does not slow down on the second verse, instead waiting until the chorus again to slow down. The bridge gives the instruments their moment, with the vocals returning on the last chorus.

Lyrically the song is about being stuck and looking for something more out of life.

What I like about this song is the hook on its chorus and its overall pop punk instrumentation, which reminded me of the 2000’s era of pop punk.

Dammed- The American Classic

Kicking of right away with some guitar shredding and pounding drums, the songs into also seems to include some synths into the instrumentation. The vocals flow in quickly with the instrumentation revolving around the drums. The chorus adds back the guitars before having an instrumental break to the second verse, with vocals that flow with ease the song kicks back to its hook on the chorus. Going with vocals on the bridge, the song also strips the instrumentation before introducing one last chorus.

Lyrically the song has the protagonist talking about getting better and choosing to heal instead of chasing something lost.

What I like about this song is its hook, and the overall summer vibe it gives me.

Molotov [OK] – Stand Atlantic

Kicking of with loud distorted guitars, the song quickly adds Bonnie’s screaming vocals to the mix. The song has an instrumental break before introducing the second vocal part to the song. The second chorus, just gets louder before the song has an instrumental filled ending to the song.

Lyrically the song talks the protagonist dealings with heart break and the prospect of dying alone.

What I like about this song, is its fast punch to the face attitude, making the song fly by with its energy,

Happiness is Liquid – Stella

Starting with soft guitars and vocals, the song slowly adds more instruments into the mix. Going all out to the electrics on the first chorus. The second verse sounds much like the first, but adds drums and electric guitar to the instrumentation. The second chorus mirrors the first but seems to lengthen towards the bridge. The bridge itself is mostly instrumental. Before, the song gets back to its striped instrumentation at the end.

Lyrically the song talks about loneliness and the protagonists quest of finding happiness.

What I like about this song is the alternation between loud and soft parts as well as the vocals.

Be A God – Only Seven Left

Opening with slow piano and vocals that have a slight effect to them, The songs beats slowly creep in together with the guitar. The chorus goes with real drums, distorted guitar and some synths. The second verse adds the beats faster, and still keeps some vocal effects. The chorus kicks up in much the same way as the first one but goes into an instrumental highpoint on the bridge, before having an instrumental break. The band goes all out for the last chorus.

Lyrically the song talks about human nature and the question of you would change the world if you were a god.

What I like about this song is the use of electronics, and the highpoint towards the end of the song.
