Release Radar #81

Its time for a new release radar, Let’s dive right in!

The Victor- Only Seven Left

Opening with slow guitars, the song adds vocals and other instruments one by one. The chorus uses a synth as its base, before introducing more guitars. The second verse keeps with the song’s momentum flowing quickly back into the chorus. The goes with a lengthened chorus for the bridge, which also plays-out until the end of the song.

Lyrically the song talks about gambling and how the protagonist seems to keep on winning.

What I like about the song is the use of synths and the unexpected subject matter.

Hell – Downcast

Starting of with slow guitars and pounding drums, the songs vocals are quickly added, with the instrumentals going slower. Hooking you in on the chorus, the song keeps its slower emotional feel. The second verse, feels almost the same as the first, but keeps slow. The second chorus also keeps with the hook of the first. The bridge takes things under tension while you wait for the chorus to drop again. The song ends with one last chorus.

Lyrically the song talks about the protagonist being stuck in a bad relationship.

What I like about this song, is the emotional feel behind it, which especially on the chorus.

Come Up – 408 ft ATHRS

Kicking of with some electronics, stuttering guitars and pounding drums are quickly added to instrumentation. The chorus kicks of in pure pop punk fashion, but ends with electronic beats. The second seems to use more of the electronic but quickly gets back to the traditional instruments. The second chorus goes much the same as the first, leading in to the bridge which consists of the traditional instruments and only flows to electronics on the songs ending chorus.

Lyrically the song describes how the protagonist is stuck in the motions of a party live style and wanting to push through.

What I like about this song, is the mix of pop punk with electronics which in some places reminded me of a Nintendocore song.

UWU- Rematch

Opening with a lone distorted guitar, the song quickly adds more drums and guitars into the mix. The vocals kick in on the first verse, before the chorus takes things up a notch in its instrumentals. The second verse keeps the songs upbeat momentum going with only a slower part introducing the next chorus. Filling the bridge with instrumentals. Before getting quite and introducing the songs last chorus.

Lyrically the song talks about being in love and thinking about that person

What I like about this song is the neon pop punk vibe I get from it, with some instrumentals even reminding me of “Fall Out Boy”

Through All The Gloom – This Wild Life

Starting of with slow acoustic guitar the song keeps a slow instrumentation before introducing the vocals. The song keeps it’s calming flow into the chorus which adds an extra vocalist into the mix. The second verse stays the same as the first as does the chorus. The bridge just lengthens the chorus until the lone acoustic guitar is left the end the song.

Lyrically the song talks about hope and the sunshine after the rain.

What I like about this song is its calming nature and how the two vocalist melt together in parts of the song.
