Teeth – Wage War

Kicking of with electronic beats, grunting vocals are quickly added, as well as pounding drums and stuttering guitars. The chorus changes the guitars to be melodic and switches to clean vocals, but just as quick mixes heavy guitars and grunting vocals back in. The second verse also acts as the bridge and breaks down the guitars until the next chorus is introduced. The song ends with some heavy guitars playing out.
Lyrically the song talks about fake friendships and not getting the same energy returned in a relationship.
What I like about this song is how the song is how it leans on the heavy side of wage war their sound and mixes in electronic elements.
Luxe – get over yourself

Opening with spoken word and an acoustic guitar, the song is mostly led by one voice and the guitar, after the first chorus the instrumentation is changed up with electronic beats and faster guitars. On the bridge the electronic drums make place for real once and dreamy vocals carry the outro.
Lyrically the song talks about trying to understand each and fixing a relationship.
What I like about this song is the overall acoustic feel, giving me a campfire vibe.
Like Love – The Amity Affliction

Starting of with soft vocals, the song quickly adds pounding drums and grunting vocals into the mix. The vocals alternate between grunting and soft/ambient. The chorus flows with the same feel, alternating between the two vocalists. The bridge brings the band in full breakdown mode and kicks the song to its high point. Contrasting with the breakdown is the soft spoken end tail of the bridge, which flows into a violin filled ending chorus.
Lyrically the song talks about lost love and the protagonists his dealings with that loss.
What I like about this song is the overall emotional feel and the alternation of vocals.
Slowburn- Telltale

Kicking of with electronic beats and fast guitars, the song keeps its fuzzy feel with the introduction of the vocals. The chorus keeps with this feel but hooks you in with a poppy feel. Repeating the opening of the song, the second verse introduces the vocals in parts with fuzzy filled guitars. The chorus again gives the hook. Taking things louder on the bridge, the song ends with one last chorus.
Lyrically the song reflects on the state of the climate and the impact off forest fires and other ecological disasters
What I like about this song are the hooks on the chorus.
We Should Be Happy – SHADED

Starting off with ambient beats and slow vocals. Keeps its relaxing flow throughout the song. Only going a little louder on the chorus. The song is mostly filled with ambient vibes. In the end the song’s instrumentation works itself to its peak point. The song ends with some slow synth tones.
Lyrically like most tracks on the AYOY project, the song reflects on love.
What I like about this song is the overall ambient vibe.
