New Friday, new releases. Let’s dive in.
Violet- Vial

Opening with light-distorted guitars, the song quickly adds its drums and vocals into the mix. Pounding drums introduce the pre-chorus, with energy radiating from the chorus. The second verse is shorter than the first and quickly gets back to the chorus. The song ends with the chorus being sung by the whole band and a drum roll playing it out.
Lyrically the song talks about having a crush, but also about the difficulties of having one when your gay. (Do you like girls or should I give up?)
What I like about this song is for the most part the energy that behind it and the lyrical hooks.
Again&Again – Against The Current ft guardin

Starting of with fading effects and electric guitars, before introducing Chrissy her vocals as well as louder drums and guitar slowly building towards the chorus. The second verse goes with a slower vibe again and is also led by Chrissy. The chorus kicks things up to eleven, before the song goes to beats only, the bridge features effects and the normal instrumentation with vocals provided by guardin. The song ends with one last chorus.
Lyrically the song talks about demons of the past and the burden one can put on themselves.
What I like about this song is the powerful chorus and how guardin feature flows in on the bridge.
Kids Of Summer – Mayday Parade

Starting of with slow guitars and soft vocals the song slowly builds towards its upbeat chorus, filled with distorted guitars and drums as well as a pop hook. Keeping with the more upbeat feel the song goes into the second verse flowing into the chorus, the bridge feels more like a lengthened chorus which closes the song.
Lyrically the song talks about better days and has an overall nostalgic trip.
What I like about this song is the upbeat vibe that is featured throughout most of the song, even through the slight emo edge “Mayday Parade” is know for, can still be heard.
The Words – Windup Space

Opening with ambient sounds and instruments slowly creeping in, taking it’s time to introduce vocals into the mix. The vocals sound far away and dreamy. Going back to instrumentals the guitars get a little louder but stay ambient for the most part. Vocally not much is changed on the second verse. For the chorus, the song mixes the loud guitars with slightly louder vocals and rhythmic drums, getting faster and faster towards the bridge. The songs opening section is repeated working to one last chorus.
Lyrically the song seems to be describing a failing and abusive relationship, with the protagonist challenging someone to find the right words to make it up.
What I like about this song is the overall dark and ambient feel, which fit chillingly with the lyrical content.
Nervous Wreck – Real Friends

Starting of with the vocals and a slow instrumentation, the song quickly switches to a more energetic instrumentation with pounding drums and heavy guitars. The chorus introduces more rhythmic guitars. Before flowing to the second verse. The second chorus keeps its energy but gets to an even more energetic bridge, slowing down for just a moment before closing off with one last chorus.
Lyrically the song describes a struggle with mental health and pushing people away.
What I like about this song are the guitar tones and punchy vocals.
