Because the last Wednesday of this month is around Kingsday again, it’s time for another Kingsday edition filled with Dutch bands. Let’s get into it.

In terms of the live circuit the band has shared the stage with artists and acts such as “I Against I” , “Make It Last” and “Drunktank”
What I like about their sound is how they mix their influences giving a retro pop punk vibe but focusing more on the punk side of things making their sound almost skate-punk.
Song I recommend are “Fairweather Friend”, “Anxiety” and “Anchor”

The band has released one EP and a handful of singles so far, with their latest release being a Christmas cover.
In terms of live shows the band has shared the stage with artists like “Skir”, “The Hearted” and “Valice”
What I like about their sound is how they mix pop punk with danceable pop influences.

Golden Boy is a Dutch indie band, formed somewhere around 2019 the band currently consists of vocalist Gigi van der Veer, guitarist Merlijn Baartman, guitarist Rasmus Bisschop, bassist Teun van der Maarel and drummer Gijs Hameete.
The band has released one EP and a handful of singles thus far.
In the sense of live playing the band has played shows with acts such as “New Bliss”, “Make Out Molly” and “Moon Ape”
What I like about their sound is how they incorporate a garage rock feel with a psychedelic vibe. Giving their overall sound a 70s feel.
Song I recommend are “(S)undress”, “Cellar Life” and “Second Encore”
Mayleaf is a supergroup out of the Dutch scene, consisting of vocalist Ilah van der Baas(2 Years To Apocalypse), drummer Joël Heijda,(No Turning Back) guitarist Michiel van Iersel(Noyalty), guitarist Adrian Delange(Call It Off) and bassist Robbert van Caem(Wasted Bullet)
The group has released one Ep and a couple of singles, with their latest release being the single “Just Breathe” (2021)
What I like about their sound is their use of fuzz and their 90 alt feel, in a way they remind me of older grunge bands but also of bands like “Milk Teeth”
Song I recommend are “Found You Out”, “Burn” and “Just Breathe”
