Love is one of music’s core subjects, but not every song directly shows this in their title, so as a special this valentines day, here are five songs that talk about love, even in their title.
Love Is Dead And We Killed Her- Doll Skin

A punk/rock and roll banger, the members of Doll Skin show their talent on this song with screeching guitars and vocals melting together.
Lyrically the song talks about being a killer (probably of love as the title suggests) which doesn’t make this a sweet romantic song but instead a somewhat darker rock song.
I Love you, I Love You. It’s Disgusting- Broadside

Feeling like an old-school myspace song with its smooth vocals and ukulele instrumentation. The Song has a certain campfire feel to it and brings Ollie his vocal talent to the forefront
Lyrically the song is basically talking to a girl, with the protagonist telling her that they will take care of her heart. A fitting song for valentines day.
Strange Love – Simple Creatures

On of the first songs released by the side project of Mark Hoppus and Alex Gaskarth. The song and the overall Sound of Simple Creatures shows the two musicians from a different side, with strong vocal chemistry and instruments leaning in a more synthpop direction, the song keeps stuck in your head.
Lyrically the song talks about drowning ones broken hart with booze and parties. This makes it more of a song for a lonely valentine’s day, but I wouldn’t serenade this to your love. That being said, it still is a catchy song.
Patchwork Love – As It Is

One of the more up-beat and energetic songs by As It Is and being on the track list of one of my favorite albums. Patchwork Love shows quick and up beat instrumentation and the vocal talents of Patty. Secondly the song already shows glimpses of the much harder-sounds the band will show on “The Great Depression” so turn it up loud and scream along.
Lyrically the song talks about a slew of problems and creaks with a relationship, making their love patched together and ultimately ends in a breakup. Also, not the sweet and romantic song you want to be playing for your love, but it still goes on my playlists.
Love Like This – The Summer Set

This song takes me back to my High School Days and was one of the songs I had on repeat riding my bike each morning. With a pop sensible chorus and a mix of synths and guitar, the song has the staple elements of a Neon Pop Punk song. While it shows its age a little I can’t help but tapping along when it comes up in some old playlists.
Lyrically the song basically describes a fast love, with the protagonist describing the love they want. Some of the lyrics feel a bit dated but you can still jam out to the song.
