It’s Friday and that means a new bag of releases, let’s take a look and dive in to this weeks release radar.
CURSED- AVIVA

Starting of with electronic beats, Aviva her vocals on the first verse and quickly getting to the chorus. The second verse follows the same blue print as the verse and uses electronic effects on Aviva her voice on the intro of the chorus. Taking it slower on the bridge the song has a bass filled section before getting to one last chorus.
Lyrically the song seems the be about people dragging Aviva down, comparing the what they have done with cursing them.
What I like about this song is the dark pop feel I get from it, in a way it reminds me of a mix of “Lexxe” and “Panic at the Disco”.
Everything You Want- The Overslept

Opening with sugary guitars and synths, Sem his vocals are quickly added. The chorus uses more of the synth but does add some guitar. Following the structure of the first verse on the second, together with faster vocals on the chorus introduction. The second chorus seamlessly flows into the bridge going all out before taking it slower. The song ends with one last chorus.
Lyrically the song is basically a love song, telling the other person you be everything they want.
What I like about this song is the use of synths, the overslept has used a flavor of pop rock which mostly reminds me of bands like “The 1975” and “Grayscale”
Numb- Flash Forward ft Alazka and Novelists

Kicking of with fast guitars and pounding drums the song takes it slower when introducing the vocals. Stretching the vocals more on the chorus, contrast with the quick feel of the verse. After, the second chorus the band changes things up by going full breakdown on the bridge. Adding grunting vocals the song ends with one last chorus.
Lyrically the song talks about depression and getting numb for it all, not knowing where it comes from.
What I like about this song is the contrast between the chorus and the verses as well as the addition of the breakdown on the bridge.
Anywhere but My Arms – Yung Scuff ft Derek Sanders

Starting with a combination of distorted guitars and electronic beats, vocals are quickly added into the mix. Most of the song is carried on the beats with higher pitched effects being used on the chorus. The bridge features Derek his vocals and more guitar on the instrumentation. Getting to one last chorus, the song ends with one last high pitched-note.
Lyrically the song talks a love song, talking about the pain of being apart from the other person.
What I like about this song is the flow of the beats on the song and how the instrumentation and vocals change with the introduction of Derek.
Better off Dead – Jxdn

Opening with the chorus, the vocals and beats can be heard immediately. With the song being heavy in the beats the instrumentation does features some faint guitar. Getting more into a rapping style on the verse, the song quickly gets back to the chorus which is sung. The bridge consists of some lose beats before the song ends with one last chorus.
Lyrically the song deals with heartbreak and feeling of loss and misery.
What I like about this song is the overall flow of the song and use of electronic. (bonus: Travis barker is drumming)
