5 Bands I Think You Should Check out: March 2020

Even through there will be now show reports for a while, I’m still busy discovering new music and showing bands I think you Should Check Out

Crystalline

Crystalline is a British alternative rock band founded in 2018 the band currently consists of vocalist Eva Mullen, guitarist/vocalist Sion Harling, guitarist Amir Maleki, bassist Ed Thomas and drummer Elliott Packham.

The band has released one Ep “Of Unsound Mind” (2018), Additionally the band has played with such artists as “In the Rough”, “Lake Acacia” and “Calling Apollo”

What I like about their sound is the dark and dreamy vibe I get from it, in short their sound reminds me a lot of 90s alternative rock.

Songs I recommend are “Sweet Tooth”, “Rock Show” and “Drowning”   

Fangclub

Fangclub is an alternative rock/grunge band from Ireland, founed in 2013 the band currently consists of vocalist/guitarist Steven King, bassist Kevin Keane and drummer Dara Coleman.

The band has released 2 albums “Fangclub” (2017) and “Vulture Culture” (2019) furthermore they have toured with bands such as “The Smashing Pumpkins” and “Milk Teeth

What I like about their sound are is the dark grunge energy, loud guitars combined with soft vocals. Which reminds me of bands like the “Foo Fighters” and “Milk Teeth”

Songs I recommend are “Best Fake Friends”, “Vulture Culture” and “Nightmare”   

Wave Break

Wave Break is an alternative rock/pop punk band from New Jersey, USA, founded in 2017 the band currently consists of vocalist/guitarist Kelly Barber and bassist Ken Knightly.

The band has released one album so far, “Armory” (2018), and a couple of singles with their most recent release being the single “Out of Breath” (2020) furthermore the band has Played with such artists as “Boys of Fall”, “Sleep on It” and “The Ones You Forgot”  

What I like about their sound is their modern pop punk quality in the vain of bands like “With Confidence”, “Bayside” and “Yours Truly”  

Song I recommend are “Plaster City”, “Friction” and “Out of Breath”

Downcast

Downcast

Downcast is a British pop punk/emo band, founded in 2018 the band currently consists vocalist Liam Edwards, guitarist Ben Lucas, guitarist Leight Wyatt, bassist Jeff Bowyer and drummer Nick

The band has released one selftitled album in 2019 and is working to the release of a new single called “Catharsis”, notably the band has received praise from such platforms as Kerrang! Magazine and punktastic. Furthermore, the band has played with such artists as “Light years” and “Anchor Down

What I like about their sound are their pop punk chops, as the band stands with solid song writing and both acoustic and electric bangers that get stuck in your head, not unlike other British pop punk acts such as “Roam” “As It Is” and “Neck Deep”  

Songs I recommend are “Anthurium” “Sombre” and “I’m Sorry”

Mascots

Mascots

Mascots are a pop punk band from Cincinnati, USA, founded in 2015 the band currently consists of vocalist Chris Henderson, guitarist/vocalist Chase Nichols, guitarist Brandon Chitwood, bassist, Alex Stewart and Justin Schreiber drums.

The band has released three eps thus far “Nothing to Lose” (2016), “The Good in Me” (2017) and “Butterfly Effect” (2018) furthermore, the band has toured with such artists as “Hawthorne Heights”,” “Calling all Captains” and “Settle Your Scores

What I like about their sound is the more emotional side of pop punk they reside in, with reminds me of bands like “Real Friends” “Man Overboard” and “Taking Back Sunday

Songs I recommend are “Goodbye”, “Time to Time” and “Perspective”
