2019 is running to its end so let’s take a look at 5 of my favorite albums that were released in 2019.

THE MAINE – YOU ARE OK (released 29/03/2019)
The Maine are back, “you are ok” the follow up to their 2017 album Lovely Little Lonely. Loving the Maine but having stopped listening for some time I was more then happy to have this album on repeat the first months of 2019.
And even seeing the band live for the first time in the accompanying tour of the album which you can read about here.
On “you are ok” the band steps away from their neon pop punk roots, and goes a more alt rock direction, with its sound the album gives the same feel as their 2015 album “American Candy”
What I like is the more ambient and emotional vibe the album gives.
My favorite songs on this album are: “Slip the Noose”, “Numb Without You” and “Broken Parts”

PUP – MORBID STUFF (released 05/04/2019)
Pup was a band I had heard about but had not listen to until this year starting with this album “Morbid stuff” while not having the album on repeat like others on this list I did like it enough to go see pup live this year, which you can read about here.
On “Morbid stuff” pup builds on the sound of their 2016 album “The Dream is Over” with a mix of self-deprecating lyrics, Dark Humor and guitars filled with punk energy pup shows what they do best.
What I like about this album is the honesty and sing along quality of the songs.
My favorite songs on the album are “Morbid Stuff”, “See You at Your Funeral” and “Bloody Mary, Kate and Ashley”

SABATON- THE GREAT WAR (released 19/07/2019)
Sabaton is back, with “Great War” the follow-up of their 2016 album the Last Stand with a liked so much I even have the album as the back patch on my battle jacket. You can imagine how excited I was about for this new album.
The Great War is classic sabaton with songs that are based on stories of world war one, the band lives up to their reputation.
What I like most about the album is that it is classic Sabaton, interesting stories about history molded into power metal songs.
My favorite songs on this album are “Seven Pillars of Wisdom”, “The Red Baron” and “Great War”

WATERPARKS – FANDOM (released 11/10/2019)
During 2018 I had Waterparks last album “Entertainment” on repeat for months, so I was more than excited when “FANDOM” came out and I must say waterparks has delivered again.
On “FANDOM” Waterparks goes in an even more pop and electronic direction than on their last album “Entertainment” while the band takes a stand against problems with fandom on tracks like “Watch What Happens Next” the album mostly feels like a break up album.
What I like about the album is the electronic and mix of genres with makes the sound more unique.
My favorite songs on this album are: “Easy To Hate”, “Telephone” and “Never Bloom Again”

AIRBOURNE – BONESHAKER (released 26/10/2019)
And last but not least its time for some old school Rock&Roll, when Airbourne announced that they where coming back to the Netherlands I immediately bought tickets, you can read about the show here.
What got me even more excited was their announcement of a new album.
What I like about the album is the old school rock & roll vibe, fast riffs and hard-hitting power chords.
My favorite songs of this album are “Burnout The Nitro” , “Blood In The Water” and “Rock ‘N’ Roll for Life”
