5 Bands I Think you should check out!: October 2019

After the feedback I got on my post: 10 bands I think you should check out, I have decided to make this into a returning format, but sliming it down a little. So here are this month’s 5 bands I think you should check out!

1.Felicity

Felicity

Felicity is a five headed pop punk band form Orlando, Florida. The band was founded in 2014 and currently consists of vocalist Damien, guitarist Andrew, guitarist Cory, bassist Mike and drummer Tyler. The released their first EP simply called “felicity” in 2015 and a follow-up EP the next year called “Brace Yourself!”  between 2017 and 2018 the released three singles “Weekend Worrier” “Circles” and The City is Beautiful”

What I like about them is their fast-paced and hard-hitting sound that reminds me of “The Story So Far” and “Trash Boat”. Songs I recommend are “Circles” “Can’t Trust a Pretty Face” and “Weekend Worrier”  

2.Myriad

Myriad

Myriad is an indie pop band form Southampton, founded in 2015 the band currently consist of guitarist/vocalist and keyboardist David Littleton, guitarist OJ Serrano, bassist Jared Brant and drummer August Fox.

The band originally started playing convers of bands like “The Red-Hot Chili Peppers” and “Biffy Clyro”

After their first gig during The Talking Heads for the Share the Sound Festival 2016 they have been working on their sound. The band has released multiple Eps and singles between 2018 and 2019 with their latest single “Tate” being released on 19-7-19.

What I like about them is their guitar driven mostly happy pop sound, in which the remind me of bands like “Against the Current” and “The 1975”. Songs I recommend are “Tate” “Easily” and “A Little Longer”

3.A Better Hand

A Better Hand

A Better Hand is a pop punk band from Minneapolis, MN, USA. The band was founded 2015 and currently consist of vocalist Jordon Salgado, bassist Kyle Kriegshauser and drummer Taylor Allen.

The band started off with a bang, their debut EP Out of “Sight & Out of Mind” on which they worked with Derek DiScanio (State Champs) as a producer, and Dave Knox (Real Friends) on guitar.  

Their sound reminds of 2000 pop punk, with modern hooks and fast riffs, songs I recommend are “Stick Around” “Sense of Sanity” And “Exposure”

4. Second Harbour

Second Harbour

Second Harbour is a three headed pop punk band form Montreal, Canada. Being formed in 2018 the band has just started. The band consist of vocalist/guitarist/drummer Xavier Morency, bassist Vincent Morency and guitarist Keith Daragon. The band has released their first ep in may 2019.

What I like about them is their fast and catchy riffs, reminding of bands like “All Time Low” and “Man Overboard” songs I recommend are “Bury the Hatchet”, “Aim Below the Head” and “Tough Luck”     

5.Andy’s Room

Andy’s Room is a pop punk and indie rock band from Fullerton, California. The band was formed in 2014 and currently consist of vocalist Matt McCarthy, Lead Guitarist Devin Trott, Rhythm guitarist Tommy English and drummer Austin Wheeler.

The band released their first EP “Yours Forever” in April 2017 and also released three Eps in 2018 called “Parchment”, “400 Miles” and “Always You”. With added to “Always You” an acoustic version of Parchment.

What I like about this band is their emotional and Ambient flavor of pop punk with still some heaviness to it which reminds me of bands like “The Maine”, “Knuckle Puck” and “Citizen”. Songs I recommend are “Maine” “Parchment” and 400 Miles”
