Last Night Flash Forward kicked off their Golden Rust tour at the Melkweg upstairs. After I saw them opening for another band last year, I had been waiting to see them again.
There is no opening band so let’s get right to Flash Forward.
Flash Forward is a German pop punk and indie rock band. The band was founded in 2010 and currently consist of vocalist/guitarist Stefan Weigel, guitarist Gerrit Kühne, bassist Jakob Wolff and Drummer Tino Wilczewski.
The band released their first album “Games, Cheats and Fakes” independently in 2011. In 2013 the band singed with Redfield records. In 2014 the band released their second album “Apollon” and embarked on a headlining tour though Germany. In 2016 the released a third album “Who We Are” which would be their last under redfield records. Their last two albums “Revolt” and “Golden Rust” where released under the label Uncle M. The band also supported Enter Shikari on two dates in Germany.

Their show started of with a bang playing Rick Astley “Never Gonna Give You Up” before entering the stage to get the crowd in the mood. After which they started off with their first song “Give Me All Your Love” and even some trouble with vocalist Stefan his guitar could not stop them as the rest of the band joked and talked with the crowd while it was getting fixed.

Their set consisted of songs from their new album “Golden Rust” but also some old songs like “Deadline”, “Kickstart”. With a performance of the “The Voice” by Vocalist Stefan in the middle of the crowd and to close it of the band played “Dancing in the Dark” during which Stefan jumped around in the crowd and together with members of the crowd.
